Rapid advancement in technology has significantly influenced academic research through Artificial Intelligence (AI). However, hesitation to accept and use its maximum potential remains a challenge especially in an academic perspective. Thus, the present study examined how faculty members of a State College in Bicol Region, Philippines accepted and utilize AI writing tools. A descriptive- correlational research design following the UTAUT framework assessed data from 62 faculty members. Findings revealed that 95% of respondents were familiar with AI writing tools but are confined to a limited tool such as Grammarly and Quillbot. Furthermore, acceptance is at 4.81 equivalent to somewhat acceptable consolidated from performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence. Meanwhile, a mean score of 4.20 and 4.57 indicating neutral opinion for facilitating conditions and attitudes towards use of AI was noted. With this, strengthening policies, awareness campaigns and infrastructure improvements shows promising strategies harness the advantage of AI in research.
