The "Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program" (4Ps) is the Philippine's version of the conditional cash transfer which was established in 2007. It is a social development strategy of the national government that provides cash grants to extremely poor households to improve their health and education particularly of children aged 0-14. Several studies focused on the impact of the program in health and education, but the civic engagement of beneficiaries has not been well examined. This study assessed the civic engagement of the 4Ps beneficiaries in four selected barangays of Tangub City, Philippines. The descriptive research design and survey method were employed. A survey questionnaire was distributed to 314 beneficiaries in two urban and rural areas through random sampling. The overall findings showed that one rural barangay (Matugnao) has a high civic engagement while the other three barangays (Bocato, Uno, and Maquilao) are somewhat engaged. The information gathered in this study can be utilized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to further develop activities that will enhance the civic engagement of the beneficiaries. Conducting a similar study in other areas of the Philippines would also be beneficial.
